So you want chickens? Or do you? Chickens are an easy and a difficult livestock animal to keep. Especially if you have never had livestock before.

This presentation will touch on everything from building or buying the correct size coop for your needs, coop security, free ranging, biosecurity, composting with black solider flies, feeding your chickens appropriately and poultry illness. And of course we will talk chicken math. The phenomenon that encompasses owning chickens once you realize you are a true poultry enthusiast. Keeping chickens is not for everyone. It has been said, you are either all in and adore them, or you regret acquiring them in the first place.

A metalsmith, photographer and multimedia artist... after starting her farmstead in 2020, Chrissy has become a true chicken enthusiast. She has studied through 50 plus books and countless articles and has an amazing mentor to help guide her with the health of her flock. She also raises a herd of Miniature Zebu and grows about an acre of organic produce.
