Beneficial Insects in the Garden

In this presentation, Erin will introduce you to the cast of characters you may encounter in your garden, the good, bad, and the ugly! You will learn about the biology and relationships between plants, herbivores, and predatory insects, and what you can do to support them.

At the end you will have loads of new knowledge and a new perspective on what it means to have a chemical free garden, why it's important, and how to be mentally prepared for it!

Erin is a Board Certified Entomologist and Associate Director of Family Programs for the Houston Botanic Garden. She has spent 20 years studying the intricate relationships between insects and plants and she is passionate about getting gardeners to not only tolerate, but celebrate and invite insects into the garden!
