OHBA
has secured for our members benefit
two of America’s leading landscape &
irrigation experts to spend a 1.5 hr
with us on this most critical
subject. The importance of this
event cannot be over emphasized.
First up will be Mr. Andy Smith from
IA (Irrigation Association), a 50 yr
old non profit based in Washington
DC that promotes the efficient use
of precious irrigation water. Andy
is IA’s National External Affairs
Director and meets, consults and
educates all over the country with
Congressman, Senators, Governors,
Municipalities and private
contractors. Andy sees first hand
our water shortage problem. Do you
know that Montgomery County in our
so called water rich area is running
out of water? Andy will give us a
clear assessment of what our local &
national water situation is, what
legislation to expect plus the
latest in irrigation technology.
Next up is OHBA’s own Gene Barnes.
Gene is a pioneer himself who has
studied more about water and how it
pertains to landscape than maybe
anyone else. Gene owns Gallion
Irrigation and is a national
educator, published writer and govt
liaison for The State of Texas. Gene
knows technology and just as
important, knows Soil Biology. Gene
for many years has been employing
not only the latest in equipment
technology but also working to
improve the soil so he gets
increased water infiltration, better
water holding capacity and deeper
root depth + mass. We’re talking
real, measurable data. As a result
we are using a minimum amount of
water and a maximum of healthy
growth. The results are Amazing!
Several Strategic Assessments
predict that irrigation water may be
a thing of the past and/or severely
limited.
To be of utmost value to our clients
we must be able to effectively
address their water needs. Our
future depends on it.
Please register early as we expect a
sell out.
Thank you! OHBA
OHBA, a
committee of Urban Harvest is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to the education &
improvement of the landscape
industry in the metro Houston area. |
